P A R T..why? Cause its Oktoberfest!

On Friday September 11 Unity hit her 5 month mark. We can't believe that what felt like a few weeks was actually 5 months! Unity has greatly influenced us with her outgoing personality and unique perspectives on her surroundings and routines. It is clear that Unity is going to be one hell of an adventure the whole way!

In late August I changed my working schedule to allow me daddy duty for the morning and early afternoon hours. Jessica is in school (teaching) during this time and then takes over when she comes home. This has been such a blast for me. I would like to say that Unity had a hard time adjusting to this change but the truth is that I had the hard time. I generally tried to approach "daddy time" as a systematic problem that can be solved with a clearly defined, logical solution. NOPE! So needless to say Unity kicked my A for the first 2 weeks. Jessica had intervened a bit and held my hand with adjusting. Since then Unity and I have started to develop a balanced equilibrium. In short, I do what she says when she says it.

Jessica has been back to school this month and she is really getting back into her school year routine. This change has been good for Unity because it gives her a more balanced schedule with Jessica and I. Jessica used to have her all day and I would see her for an hour at night before she went to bed. Unity clearly likes this schedule better.

Unity has picked up some new habits. Some are funny, some are frustrating. One thing she does all the time is spit. She started this a while ago and since increased her frequency to in between breaths. Now its not like she is "spitting" but she makes raspberries and sprays a fine mist everywhere with it. She will spit on anybody we pass while walking, and will spit out her food making a mess of herself, the table, and daddy. Nobody is safe in the range of her sprinkle. She also has started to yell / growl like a dinosaur. She will get louder the more excited she gets. So when we are out everybody around knows it.

Unity has turned into such a city girl. She loves the bustle of the city and will spend hours just looking around at everything as we walk. She is a total window shopper and will stop daddy if we pass something in a window she likes (usually her reflection will suffice). She used to be afraid of the loud noises in the city but now she seems to actually like it.

Overall Unity is changing so much! Her eyes are still blue and have fine brown streaks. We think (hope) she will keep this eye color. As of 2 weeks ago she weighed in at 15lbs and is starting to outgrow all of her 3-6 month clothes. Her hair is getting longer and is currently dirt blond with red highlights.

Unity and I are about to head into the city, then she is meeting up with Jess and the girls.
