My First Independence Day.

This past weekend was Unity's first Independence Day. It also marked her 12th week of life. Unity has shown a lot of development over the past few weeks. She has become very interactive and thinks Mommy and Daddy are funny regardless of our intent.
I had off on Friday the 3rd and this gave Unity more family time with us. Unity helped me work on the car this weekend and considering the weather was so nice (for a change) she spent a lot of time outside. Unity loves to be outside so this meant happy baby and happy baby = happy Mommy and Daddy!
On Independence Day the three of us went to India Point park in Providence for the festivities and fireworks. We were unsure how Unity would react to the fireworks demonstration and to our surprise she loved it. After the fireworks we took her over to a cafe we frequent on Wickenden Ave and had some coffee and chat. Unity also briefly met our friends at The Taste of India (Jess and my favorite restaurant). Unity was a little uneasy with the crowd in the restaurant but she made for a cute appearance. At the end of the night Unity fell asleep at 10:30 and had her first night out past bedtime.
On Sunday we all went down to Oakland Beach and took Unity for a long stroll along the ocean. She was very interested in the water and put her feet in the ocean for her first time.

Unity has become much more responsive to Jess and I. She tries to talk all the time and she loves to laugh at us. She has become a little accustomed to Jess and I and gets a bit upset when others hold her. She has started to roll a bit and she is working on crawling but has a way to go. I say Unity is becoming accustomed to Jess and I but I think that more so we are becoming addicted to her. She always has something new going on and we can't get enough!

Well, little miss Unity continues to grow! She is smiling so often, and is developing a great personality. She is very alert, always taking in her surroundings with her bright blue eyes. She is also a very chatty baby! While at the Providence Children's Museum she had a whole conversation with an owl puppet. Unity is so much fun for Daddy and I!
